What happens at a consultation

A first visit usually settles whether a heart problem is present, and what the next step should be. Testing is done on site, so you leave with answers rather than another appointment.

ECG

Recorded and read during the visit. The first test for chest discomfort, palpitations or an irregular pulse.

Echocardiogram with Doppler

An ultrasound of the heart muscle and valves — pumping function, valve narrowing or leak, and pressures. Done at the clinic where indicated.

Your reports, read properly

Previous ECGs, treadmill and echo reports, discharge summaries, angiogram images on a CD — bring them. A second opinion on existing films is a reasonable thing to ask for.

Consultations and non-invasive testing happen at the clinic in Tambaram. Catheter-based procedures are performed at Kauvery Heart Institute on Radial Road, where Dr. Stalin Roy has practised since 2023.
